Investing in Dowagiac’s Past and Future
Mayor Lyons has worked hard to ensure our Dowagiac community continues to move forward by investing in the people that live and work here. While the city budget can only go so far, Don has willingly given back to the city that has given so much to him and his family. Since becoming Mayor, Don, his wife Joan, and Lyons Industries have contributed funding to the following community improvements.

Supported area restaurants during COVID by purchasing daily meals and snacks for employees at Lyons Industries.
Annual attendence and donation to the Black Family Celebration.
Endowment to the Dowagiac Area History Museum through the Michigan Gateway Community Foundation.
One of the biggest sponsors of OutCenter, our tri-county LGBTQ resource center.
Borgess Lee Hospital’s Women’s Health Center and Emergency Room.
