Mayor Lyons has worked closely with local healthcare providers to ensure more residents have access to the quality care they deserve. He was instrumental in facilitating the construction and financing of the medical clinic across from the hospital that has served Dowagiac for the past 15 years.

Last year, Corewell Health opened a clinic in the Donald Lyons Health Center, adding over 1,200 new patients from the area. They have also announced plans to expand services by adding two new doctors.

The Cass Family Clinic is also repurposing and renovating a building just south of Dowagiac to offer healthcare and pharmacy options to Dowagiac-area citizens.

Previously, Don was also instrumental in raising over $1,600,000 for the reconstruction of the new emergency room at Borgess-Lee Hospital. Don was also closely involved in raising over $400,000 for the construction of a new entryway on High St.
